Completed at the French animation school, Le Gobelins, Chronos 1.0 is an animated short by Wassim Boutaleb, Bruno Mangyoku, Vincent Mahé & Yann Boyer. Realised in a mixture of traditional and digital mediums, it served as the opening sequence for the Annecy’s 2007 Animated Film Festival. Sound design is by Gerard Labadie, with music by Gabriel Ray & the students of Le Conservatoire de la ville d’Annecy.

In the wonderful world of vinyl cover art, it’s far from uncommon to experience the unfortunate disparity that occurs when style overcomes substance. However, such is happily not the case with Beat Squeeze’s new release, Music Library – an aptly-titled “funky and synthetic library tracks compilation,” selected by Mister Modo and Ugly Mac Beer. In addition to the frankly glorious retro-future sci-fi artwork on the sleeve, the high-quality funky European 70s sounds have been picked to delight the ears of vintage groove fans. Powerplant By Bigert & Bergström

Stockholm-based, scientifically-motivated collaborative artist pairing Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström are, once again, testing our relationship with climatic issues, this time in the form of light installation, Powerplant. This recently-exhibited, spherically-collective bi-illumination sees photographs of a power plant and its environment wrapped around a molecular construct, calling us not only to look, but to see.
